Winners of FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions 2016 announced!

FAKRO, a global manufacturer of roof windows was once again the organizer of international design competition for architects FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions. The competition ofically ended on 3 October.

The task of the competition was to create a concept – visualisation featuring re-design of an existing public utility building with the use of FAKRO products.

We received a lot of projects that surprised us with ingenuity and innovation. They were evaluated by an international Jury composed of:

Indira van 't Klooster (NL) – editor-in-chief of “A10 new European Architecture Cooperative”, author of Reactivate!of Duch Architecture (2013) and Forty and Famous, 10 interviews with young architects of Europe (2016).

Anna Judina (FR) – author of publications on the architecture and design, curator, editor-in-chief of “Monitor” Magazine, author Lumitecture (2016), Furnitecture (2015) and Phase: the Architecture of Jakob+MacFarlane (2013)

Sabina Sujew (PL) – Master of Fine Arts, Export Manager of FAKRO

The Jury was faced with a very difficult task as the level of submitted projects was extremely high. The winners were chosen after several hours of intense deliberations:

I place – 5000 €

Antonio Torres Sanz from Spain

II place – 3000 €

Filomena Visone from Italy

III place – 2000 €

Warat Rodpechprai from Thailand

The competition Jury also awarded distinctions which were received by:

Jeffrey Clancy from USA

Javier Serrano Fajardo and Isabel Gomez Garcia from Spain

“The level of projects submitted in this year's edition was very high. FAKRO products fit perfectly these international projects. This is the confirmation that functionality of FAKRO products ideally satisfies architectural requirements all over the world. Natural light and ventilation improve the quality of life in our homes and offices, while global trends set the direction for further development of FAKRO products. Therefore, we are open to needs of the international clients. We use this knowledge and implement international standards and architectural requirements, developing and continously improving our products”, – commented by Sabina Sujew, Member of Jury, Export Manager of FAKRO.

Architects taking part in this year's edition of the contest FAKRO Inspires – Space for New Visions 2016 demonstrated extraordinary aesthetic sensitivity and knowledge of the advantages of FAKRO products in incorporating them into various buildings around the world, giving them the new life.
